I studied at The Kent Institute of Art & Design in Maidstone, graduating 1997 with a BA Hons in Communication Media, specialising in Illustration. For the past ten years I've been working in book production & design in London, whilst concurrently working on freelance illustration commissions for tv graphics, magazines, books & CD covers and also dabbling with logo & web design for a few local companies.

Most of my illustrations have been laboriously created with paper & scalpel, littering the floor with tiny scraps of colour. Latterly, I've moved onto using Adobe Illustrator which can often give the exact same look - a cleaner process, but harder on the eyes.

Aside from my commercial illustration and book design work, I have been studying life drawing & painting since the year 2000. I attend a fortnightly life-drawing group in West Sussex, from which the majority of my paintings & drawings come.

I like to experiment with colour in my paintings, trying to accentuate the subtle to
nes which play across and reflect in the skin. My chief aim is to fragment what is seen by the eye, into a complex pattern of colour & brush-stroke, whilst maintaining a likeness of my subject.

In May 2007 I had an exhibition at the Greenstede Gallery, East Grinstead with Michael Gage, which was very well received. In May 2008 I exhibited on the Seven Dials trail of Artists Open Houses. I am currently exhibiting at Moksha, a new up & coming café in Brighton. Please see my exhibition page for more details.

In my spare time I like buying old stuff & doing it up (I'm currently in the process of re-upholstering a '70's wing chair), and have a rather unhealthy addiction to buying wool.

I live in East Grinstead, West Sussex with my husband, baby daughter & jack russell.
