It’s been a busy week! I’ve taken a bit of a break from my normal painting and have been working on designs for Christmas cards for the Jubilee Initiative. The basic brief was to keep to the real meaning of Christmas, making the designs related to the Christmas story, which is ever so slightly refreshing! I saw a Christmas card featuring a festive zebra on one charity site the other day which seemed a bit random.

I wanted to work with my trade mark brush strokes, but changed tack a little, scanning in textures and hand drawn, cutout  silhouettes, working them up into designs in Photoshop. Here are my two designs, one based on the three kings, the other on Mary and Joseph, but really I’ve been calling it Little Donkey, and had trouble getting the song out of head during the week. Both cards will be sold together in a pack of 10 – 5 of each design, all profits will go to the Jubilee Initiative supporting a number of local and global charities.
