Following the prize draw at my Townscape portrait project, I’m pleased to say that the final portrait is now finished and on display.

I present…. Margaret Lawrence!

Margaret was entered by her husband Richard. I met up with them both in early September, to take some photos for the portrait. Chatting with her, I soon became aware that Margaret was the perfect addition to the project. Many in town will know or recognise her – recently retired from Lawrence i-care Optometrists in the Constitutional Buildings on the High Street, a former governor of Imberhorne and former Mayoress of East Grinstead, not to mention her support for Vision Aid Overseas, being a volunteer Optometrist.

It was a pleasure to meet and paint Margaret. I hope she and her family are happy with the resulting portrait.

If you want to see the portrait in person please visit The Jubilee Community Centre on Charlwoods Road, East Grinstead. The exhibition and Townscape art trail, which it’s part of, remain up until 30 November.
