To read more about this 30 in 30 painting challenge, do read my first post here. Here’s another seed packet but this time from someone else’s collection.
Friends and family are beginning to give me seed packets to paint. I have plenty myself but I’m enjoying weaving other people into my project. This packet is rather special, a commemorative Sweet Pea for a local East Grinstead townswoman, Myfanwy Townsend, who died of Melanoma in 1999. Since her passing, her husband has worked tirelessly to raise money for research into Melanoma, creating the Melanoma Fund, proceeds of these seeds going to the charity.
I remember Myfanwy, from my days working in my parent’s newsagent when I was a teenager, so it’s a privilege to add the packet to the collection. Thank you Alison, for lending me your packet and sharing your story of your close family friend, Myfanwy.
